Goals and Consequences

‘’Many years ago I used to think, if you are doing well, spending just positive and constructive energy and if you are very devoted and willful, there is no any possibility not to reach a desired goal. Till today I didn’t change my opinion at all ,but life changed me a lot. This is the point when willpower is reaching super tempo.’’

This was the introduction for the installation ‘’Goals and Consequences’’ made on December 1st 2008 in Royal Academy of Art in The Hague.

The idea came from very personal experiences of mine,my difficult past and lot of broken illusions. I gave the title Goals and Consequences as it is a very natural reaction that if you have some goals and you must go through several walls till you reach the desired aim. During that, often very long journey, you can get several injures.

I ‘v presented -Goals and Consequences- as installation consisted of three main elements:

Scanned, zoomed and printed confirmation of my visa refusal from Dutch Embassy in Belgrade. This is a very particular document and very personal, as it was first time I have tried to leave Serbia. It was in 2004. I was 23 years old.
Second element : my shoes, again a very particular element, because I used to wear that pair of shoes for almost three years and it was during the time before and after leaving Serbia.I gave the title ‘’Transit Shoes’’
Third element is video installation-wall projection, which symbolizes my extreme and forceful desire of getting out and running extremely fast but without any visible progression except exhaustion.
